QUICK! Advice Heading to sale!

I'm heading to a sale that has this piece listed as 1940's Fenton but I'm not feeling or finding it on line.
Here is the picture from the sale.

 

If it's Fenton, I don't think it is 1940s.

Don't spend a lot of money on something you are not sure about.

I see a pair listed as Sowerby for $75.

 

Pattern Piasa Bird, many different shapes.

 

I confirm Piasa Bird pattern, Mfg not known, ca. 1900.

 

I've noticed that many tag sale managers attribute any pretty piece of glass to Fenton in hopes of drawing a buyer. It's a very pretty vase so maybe you can make a deal on it, since it's not Fenton. You know, at an "i'll take it off your hands" price? LOL!

 

Sorry to leave everybody hanging. They had it priced at $125. To rich for this country boy collector. They supposedly had it appraised by some expert company who valued it at $250-$300.
It sold over the phone while I was there. More power to them. What is the old saying. It's worth what somebody is willing to pay. Not worth it to us. Lots of pretty blue out there that doesn't break the bank.

Totally agree with you Robert: It's pretty much what it always boils down to, "It's worth what somebody is willing to pay."

 

Plenty of them on Ebay for much much less... you made the right choice.

 

Is it just me, or have you all noticed lately how some of these FrueFrue sites are asking for and many times getting so much money for things that are available on ebay for a lot less? I'm talking about EBTH, Chairish, and those types of sites.

 

... and you can add to the list Invaluable, LiveAuctioneers, CATAWIKI, Etsy, etc. And the difference in price is sometimes absolutely crazy!
