    Oh wow!

You found the original catalogue for it! Cool!

    Thanks!

AMF is another popular pinsetter. In my youth, I was a pinsetter mechanic on both AMF and Brunswicks.

Sweet! My dad was in the bowling business for many years. Managed and then owned a 70+ lane house. I worked for him for a good part of my teens and up until early 20s. We had 52 AMFs and 26 Brunswicks.

My experience was a small center in the boonies -- that survived on its liquor license.

But I could hear a pinsetter getting ready to dump pins from a mile away. Was pretty good at climbing up the back and solving "stuck pin" issues. Not a mechanic, just meeting the regular needs of really old pinsetters. :joyful:

Brunswicks were a lot more beastly than the AMFs. You really need to keep your wits about you with all of those moving parts, and because they could 'come alive' if there was a jam if you didn't unplug. Not much in the way of safety back in the 70s, at least for our rigs.

I can still hear the loudspeakers, "BALL RETURN ON 65! SWEEP ON 10! 180 ON ....." We'd be running back and forth all night.

You must have a really big trash can.

Someone around here would love that for their “cave”.

If you got that for free, I reckon you're on to a winner. Very fine.

I think @komokwa meant that the post to which you replied was posted by our member Jivvy, who had grabbed an image from online in order to further the discussion started by the original poster. Jivvy never owned the item she grabbed. The original poster, Caribou's House, has not come back here since last June. And I'm unable to tag Caribou's House for some reason, so all we can hope is that he or she returns because this thread has been updated.

    And welcome to Antiquers, @Tim S. !

Jivvy never said she owned the piece she showed. She was using it as an example.

You are replying to a thread that has been inactive for almost 8 months.

Lately I've seen several new members landing on older posts ...asking questions of the OP who haven't posted for a while, or just ain't around anymore.
There doesn't seem a good way to inform them to check the date at the lower left of every post to see if the thread is current, save for a case by case basis.....
