Jade Rings

No marks found so I guess a non-precious metal.
No idea if the stones are good quality or some type of cheap jade.
Any thoughts?

Are you sure there isn't a mark in that 4th photo - right at the edge of the stone setting?

 

I am not finding any markings.

 

it *may* just be squiggles, but there is something there -

 

You can buy jade cabs for not a lot, so it's quite possible those are costume.

 

I can't speak for the metal but the jade looks to be real nephrite .

 

I scratched a bit the metal and seems like there is silver tone underneath. So, it could be plated?
No idea how to tell nephrite from jedaite.

 

Classic 70s gold filled and jade jewelry. I've seen a lot of it.

If I remember correctly , & also draw upon my knowledge of the massive amount of local carved jade in downtown Vancouver .....it was the cards for the earrings and boxes for the rings that had the contents like....10K GF Genuine Jade ...marked on them....

 

Komokwa, I bought lovely carved jade in Vancouver. Apparently, much is actually sent to China for carving then brought back - the skills are better there.

 

Yes...tonnage is sent to China....because the market is so large in both places and it's ' cheaper ' to carve it there.

There are excellent carvers in the Vancouver area.....and have been for decades...bet here they get a living wage .

 

Oh, they get a living wage in China, believe me. Fastest growing middle class on the planet, which is what the carvers are. Even factory workers are now getting pretty decent wages, which is why clothing production has moved to places like Bangladesh.

 

I meant here they get a living wage.........to live here !

& yes the tank top I'm wearing comes from Bangladesh..
