Oil painting for your perusal, please. ;)

I quite like this, but then I always love anything involving the sea. It's decently framed by a proper company, which makes me think it may be better than a mere furnishing daub. The company is in Christchurch, New Zealand from the address. Any thougts please, including the signature?

Decent framing but I am getting a Mexican "starving artist" painting. It is far better than most of the one's I see. I love the different shades of blue, it is a better than nice factory painting.

I like it. My guess would be by a local New Zealand artist and purchased as a souvenir of someone's vacation.

 

I see Syort. Does seem to be a surname and means Short in Filipino.

 

It looks like "Syort" to me, too. I can't find anything that seems relevant.

 

Himself thought it might read S York. I think the souvenir idea is probably correct, a lot of Brits travel to NZ. The framer is still going, but hasn't got a website, or I'd email them.

Anyhow, it was six dollars.

Thank you. I'm now wondering if this T. Peter Gray was some sort of gallery. Although, the PO Box and phone number are the framers, so maybe he was simply the artisan.

 

Now that you said it, Bear, "S York" is what it looks like to me, too.
