This struck me as unusual to use gold on one side and brass on the other?Fixed ring at top is white metal - not silver- to add to the mix!
Blue enamel on gold side is sadly damaged.
I thought it was half a locket to begin with but I can’t see any where a hinge would have attached and it’s too smooth.
The blue side is odd as it’s really hard to see what it is. To begin with I thought lapis but with a loupe it looks like the same blue enamel as on the other side but maybe under a layer of clear glass? It’s like trying to look at those miracle beads as there isn’t anything to focus on.
Any age to it do you think or any thoughts :)

It is gorgeous, a perfect colour combination.
I went through the same thought process as you regarding the locket-pendant question. It looks like the back is clear(ish) glass, and should open in some way.
Is the loop attached to the front or the back?
Is there a safe way to open the gold front, rather than the back?
I'm sure that can be kyratised.:)

It ought to open or pop out. I've seen these with a blue or other lining, meant for a lock of hair. That ivy means fidelity, marital love. Clover is "I promise" - so it's a wedding token. And the something blue, of course.

It is so tight fitting I can't see how it can open. No sign of a hinge or even a nitch to get a nail into to open it.
I have some enamel paints, Ill have to see if I have the right colour. The enamel sits in depressions so looks quite simple to do even if a little fiddly.
It was in a box of kids pins like this one below - couldn’t believe my luck. Also a silver locket in there too!
Doesn’t take much to make me happy does it?. It’s almost the hunt and the research that’s more fun than the actual possession.

Possibly opened by a jeweler with special tool? At this point I wouldn't try. Looks to have been well worn. Maybe bent in areas or have caked dirt. You might do more damage.

    I would clean it.
The bezel looks like rolled gold that has worn off from continuous wear. The darker area #1 being the gold, the brighter area #2 being the base metal in this case brass.

I see what you mean and that would make sense. Presumably the enamelled side with the decoration is full thickness gold then to have stood the test of time. It tests as 9ct but I’m not going to file a notch in it to be sure!.
You are right also I think about it being a specialist job to open it and as I have no need to other than idle interest I will leave well alone. I will see if I can sort the enamel damage though. I love the idea of it being a wedding token. Any idea what date?
    :)

If you can't find sign of a hinge anywhere around the edge, I would not go looking for the right tool to pry it open.

It may not have been meant to open; I wouldn't mess with it. Bristol blue glass?
