I agree, the last one (the crouching, striped fellow) looks like an Inuit soapstone figure.

I don't recognize the style of the first object, but my first impression was that the stone looked liked it might be serpentine from Mesoamerica.

The first one looks like a Maya Shaman stone to me, and probably serpentine. Not jade.
Shaman stones are often 'transition' pieces, which means the back or side can look like an animal head, instead of the being you see on the front.
Assuming it is Maya, these items were used on a village level, they were not part of the high religion of the Maya you usually see in Maya art.

For a better understanding of what it looks like, could you post photos where we can see everything properly? Maybe someone else can explain what we need to see, my brain doesn't want to.

Btw, it was carved that way. No need for incense or anything else.
If it is a Shaman stone, special signs of respect etc must be done by a Shaman or under Shamanic guidance.

I agree with the others, the second one looks Inuit, and as komo said, we need to see the base.

@Anthony Divergigelis - I think we would find it most helpful if you could photograph the object straight on from all four sides, as well as the base and top. It can be difficult to interpret photos when they are taken pointing down at the piece at odd angles.

But I think @Any Jewelry has provided the most plausible identification of your object.

  11. Good morning all!

The only reasonable comparisons I have found (including the one AJ linked to) were both passed at auction.

This one is ceramic rather than stone, and apparently sold for $595. I would be skeptical of any/all Mesoamerican ceramic figures, as copies/fakes have been made for over a century.

It is a Shamanic piece, and probably closely associated with the identity of its first owner, a Shaman. So highly individual, rather than connected with the mainstream high religion of the Maya.
Shamanism can include mainstream religious concepts and symbols, in this case probably Maya, but it is usually best not to search for mainstream religious meaning in a Shamanic piece.
Your piece represented something to the first owner, and he or she would have used it in Shamanic work when visiting rural areas.
Ixchel or Ix Chel, the first letter is an I (i).;)

Antiquities are a really fun area to hunt for items in modern settings. One never knows what some of the items are one sees in thrift shops, and most modern buyers would never think about taking them seriously.
