Featured Oriental Tea Caddy (Brass / Pewter) - help identifying

Hi All - I am new here and this is my first post.

I am trying to get help identifying the markings on the base of this tea caddy and a relative date. I have done some research online and struck out. I have found a few similar, but with vague descriptions.

It appears to be brass or pewter, 6 sided with back painted panels on each side.

Any help would be appreciatted.

I personally don't know anything about these caddies, but I often see them called "Swatow" Chinese caddies - note that "Swatow" is Shantou, China.)

sure that the term swatow ware was also used for metal items ? I thought it was ceramics.
