I have this beautiful and creepy fox scarf! It doesn’t have any labels or anything that would identify a maker or anything. If anyone has any idea where I might be able to get in valued or sell, I would be most grateful. Thank you!

Back in the day when my grandmother went to get her mink coat, she got me a mink scarf thingy with the head on. She always tried to include me in what adventures she had. She had a manicurist give me my first manicure so I could feel special at the age of 6... but I digress.

It creeped me out when she gave it to me but I came to love it because it was from her. I wish I held on to it. Just for the memories.

Other than that I got nothing..

Can you imagine walking down the street and seeing someone with this around their neck :hilarious:

    Hmm talking point

Given the size, shape and color of yours, I'd think it was 1930s/1940s. Would have been worn around the neck as an accessory to a daytime suit. Back in the day, any good-sized town would have a furrier so could very well have been made/bought locally.

As above, eBay is a good place to get an idea of supply & demand. Be sure and go to Completed listings first to see how many have been up for offer. Then go to Sold listings to see how many of those have sold and which ones were of interest to collectors. Compare yours against those that have Sold; that will give you an idea if yours would be desirable and a directional idea as to value (if any.) Then go back to active listings to see how many similar are currently on offer. That will give you an idea of what your competition would be for selling and a range of current pricing. Selling on eBay is, of course, just one revenue but it is one that resells fur.

I wonder how long that will last though deb, I've sold various fur coats, hats on ebay with no problems at all

I'm thinking it will be the next prohibited item though soon

Saying that though, you couldn't ban leather

That's where the big question lies

Certainly wouldn't surprise me re an eBay prohibition.

My friend had one of these fox furs, her Mums Basset Hound ripped it to pieces.

I can appreciate its beauty and craftsmanship but it still freaks me out! Can’t imagine actually wearing it anywhere, I’m sure it’s more of a collectors item. Just seems a shame for it to sit in my storage! Thanks for your comments everyone!

It’s now for sale on my vinted account! Trying there first for ease as I continue to sort through all things I have and if it doesn’t sell, there’s a local auction house nearby where I can take it!

The 30s/40s girls wear them here in uk at vintage fairs and re-enactment days.
