Featured Silver or silverplate basket with cobalt glass insert

Got this on the final day of an estate sale. It was marked down as they wanted everything gone. Didn't examine it too carefully as it was just $1.

Once home realized the glass had been repaired. But as I removed the insert, the base almost felt like it could be sterling. The weight as much as anything, but also felt like it would be easy to bend. Not marked except for "Made in England" which doesn't look terribly old. Default is plate of course. Did not do any polishing but so far a quick test, all discoloration polishes out to a shine.

Anyone seen similar, general thoughts?

 

Suspect Silver Plate.
Nice to have the cobalt liner. They are usually missing.

 

Especially since it's such an individual shape!

 

Since we know it was made in England but see none of the required marks for sterling, we must conclude that it is plated.

Still very nice with the insert - and that the discolorations polished out!

 

Bristol glass ?
