Featured Bangles/bracelets - what are they made out of?

Hi all!

I bought these at an estate sale for $2.00 each a few months ago. The lady that lived in the house was from Spain and married to a serviceman. I know they traveled a lot from what the estate holders said.

Any who. I wear them to work. Would like to know the age and what material they are made of. Probably not worth a lot but look very unique and i really don't have costume jewelry. I love these pieces. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think these are more recent imports from India. Bone and brass. I love the one with the pin closure.

That one is definitely from India, think bone pieced together to look like ivory. Less sure about the origin & material of other one, which could be a Chinese knockoff of Indian ones.

Oh, as for age. Hard to tell. Such bracelets have been made in India for ages.

I think both are Indian ox bone and brass. I have Ma's, bought new in the 60s.

I'm with the others, bone and brass from India. Rajasthan, I think.
My mother also bought one in the 60s. Many came over on the 'Hippie Trail'.

They were still coming in the 80s. Bracelets that is. As far as I know they still make boxer dogs too, although the gentleman in the deely bobbers is no longer around.

 

That is my beloved Old Man. We rescued him in 2014 - he showed up in our yard 4th of July and was scared of fireworks and tried bolting into our house. He was about five then and passed away last February - I miss him so much
