   I thought you might be interested in this....
   I was looking at this old bill and I said to DH - wasn't $85 an hour a lot of money back in 1937? He asked what for - I said it looks like electrical work. He said that is high.
   Then I realized - it was 85 cents an hour! The helper only got 52 cents an hour.

   According to an inflation calculator (http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/), $.085 in 1937 would be $14.04 today. So that's still very low for a skilled worker.
