Afghanistan is (gem)stone country, so it could be stone. A type of yellow agate maybe?

Try them massed first. May have more of a "wow" factor with the visual weight.

I'm being clear as mud, I meant I'd wear them as one necklace - I agree, massed will look much better.

I knew before opening the box that there would be some nice Bakelite inside.

I went out tag saling today - first time really this year when there were enough to merit the term. First stop - 50 cents for some paper. Second stop, $6 on three necklaces - sterling but nothing crazy. Next stop .. why did I bother. I thought about going home but didn't. Next stop? Cheap Mardi Gras necklaces for donation. Next up .... BINGO. That house where I found all the jewelry last week at the estate sale had a tag sale to get rid of the rest. $41 later... Hit a few more on the way home, but the bag from those is mostly quilt fabric that didn't even come in the door; it's waiting for a quilt group on Monday.

Here's some of it. First up ... not sure what I got, but I got it. I think the mask is @anyjewelry bait, but the other pieces might be real primitives and might be Memorex. The painted one is newer, but it's signed. The moccasins are bitty Minnetonkas and the bag is leather with an antler whistle. Meanwhile as you can see I was supervised taking the pictures. I swear the tile is Persian, it's a friend's Chanukkah gift. The egg is wooden, from Russia. The candle holders are non-damaged unlike the matching one I have in the house. Queen Mary candlesticks in the house.(LOL) Now I can get rid of my cracked one.

    My latest.
The book is late 1500, printed in Antwerp at Plantin studio.
The Christ is 19 th century ivory, by a Brussels art studio.
The boat bears a old Antwerp model shop logo.
The box holds some nice Boch Chardon pieces.
    Love the toy castle.
The ashtray is a (Holland & Holland) armory and bullets advertising.

She generally does. If she's not disapproving. She's Queen Cat and acts it.

I had one of these and broke it, which annoyed the hell out of me. I found another today. Almost the anniversary. Four dollars or so. C10C.jpg C10F.jpg C10A.jpg C10B.jpg C10D.jpg C10G.jpg C10E.jpg

And Hoard Fodder. @Any Jewelry - what do you reckon on the ring? A nice lava cameo for @Bronwen too.
