I can't find my unit

    It is a US military 'unit crest'

    By the looks of it, it was a unit that used anti-aircraft artillery on US planes

    ok count me dumb when it comes to military stuff.

    Is that supposed to be an eagle?
    Isn't the eagle our national bird?
    There is an arrow through it and it does not appear to be a flattering thing.

    Could this be German instead of American?

    Same here; that's the dove of peace getting nailed by an arrow from the American Eagle.

    I agree that it is probably an anti-aircraft unit crest. I don't think it is meant to mean US planes. It probably means shooting down any bird, plane, flying overhead. By using an eagle it may mean a real serious, predator, plane. I found a couple of other eagles shot with an arrow crests on French related sale sites. I wasn't sure of my translation ability, and the Google translator wasn't much help on pinning them down.
