I love the colors on this, the firey-ness just doesn't translate 100% in pictures, but I wanted to show it anyway. Unfortunately, it's cracked as you can see in the pictures. I once contacted a studio to see if I could have it repaired, but I think they wanted $200-300 which I didn't want to spend on it.

If anyone has a clue on who the artist might be, please let me know. I've searched many times, if that symbol is the artist's, it should be easy enough to find, but I've had no luck.

A bit like the Camille Tharaud mark, but not it I'm afraid.

Yeah, I believe that's a name I came across way back when. I have her name on a little note, and it's crossed out, so I assume that I came to the same conclusion.

I should have posted in my original post that I don't even know if it is Limoges, but it doesn't matter to me one way or another. I know little about porcelain, pottery, and glass (though this doesn't quite fit into that category), so I wouldn't be able to tell Limoges from Latrine...lol.

Per my last post, I'd love opinions on whether it even is Limoges.

I am not saying it's not but the only Limoges I know of is the hard-paste porcelain that is made in & around the city of Limoges France.

Since there is no porcelain involved in this piece, which is beautiful, I was clueless so I did a quick Google search & this is my "I learned something today". :smug::smug:

Believe Camille was a man. So others know what we mean:

Yo, oopsey daisy, sorry about that. Thank you for posting the signature as that's the best picture of his signature that I've seen.

Limoges is a place, not a company.

The signature looks almost hobbyist to me. Is it possible that there is a Limoges bowl or plate under the copper and enamel? I've seen examples of Limoges china with sterling silver over it, so why not copper? Then the signature could also be another artist who is creating something new. Just saying . . .

I found some old photos of sterling silver over porcelain items I've sold in the past.

This one was marked Winterling China. It was breathtaking and came with a coffee pot, cream and sugar.

This one had a little less silver, was stunning.

    Very nice!

I saw somewhere that some artists would do enamel on silver or gold, though I imagine that was smaller items like brooches. I didn't really do a deep dive on it or anything; I just thought it was interesting.

I googled Limoges copper Enamel Plate or Bowl and found several items. Here is one that is the closest to your shape but not the same signature. This is the one closest to yours but I'm not a member of Pinterest so couldn't see other photos. Maybe you can get it.

These are others I found on Etsy:

And here is one that mentions copper and a different signature: https://www.etsy.com/listing/267477...=sr_gallery-1-29&sts=1&organic_search_click=1

Since Limoges is a region, I'm not sure if there is porcelain under the copper and enamel or not. But I suspect that there isn't since there are others. But, IDK.

That new one's French marking translates "Enamels on Silver"

Oh wow, those first two are quite similar. Thank you so much for taking the time to look further, ola402. I tried to find the actual listing for the first one on pinterest, but no luck.

That's interesting; thank you Bakersgma. I assumed it was on copper since that seems to be the usual medium. I wonder if I could figure out if it's really silver underneath.

    Thank you everyone for contributing.

I knew that symbol looked familiar; it's the Phi symbol. Didn't help me get any further in finding the artist though.
