For some reason I can't tell for sure if that is watercolor or a print.
    What do you think?
    Also, suggestions on the origin?
    Thanks

You don't usually see watercolor with "dry brush" technique, do you? Can't tell if it's print, but I wouldn't vote for watercolor.

A dry brush technique can be achieved with watercolors. The type that comes in tubes lends itself to a thicker, drier application.

Kard, it looks to me like it could be either an original painting or a print produced using a technique other than photo offset lithography. My first impression is that it's a painting, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info, Pat. I learn at least one new thing here every day.

The sky and some of the other background is super smooth, that is what looks like a print to me. Otherwise I think I see a slight texture on other areas. Maybe it is mixed media.

What does the siggy looks to you? I see Maio?

Bakers, I learn something new here everyday, too.

Kard, I think your instincts about it being a print may be right if it looks like there's the texture of watercolor paper in some areas but not in others.

I don't know, had closer look and now I think it could be all hand painted.
The face of the man looks familiar. So does the overall style.
What's the deal with the guy being all wrapped like that?

That's a woman. Some kind of fishwife, with a creel.

Kard, a quick way to tell if it's a waterbase paint would be to touch a damp Q-tip to a teeny area and see if any paint comes off.
