Japanese Satsuma mark?

Can anyone identify a Japanese Satsuma mark on this tray?

Nice! It does look as if parts of the characters in the mark are chipped or something. You can check gotheborg.com for the mark under Japanese marks.

 

That's a nice piece. Thanks for sharing. It certainly looks like satsuma, looking at the signature, decor and crazing. If you give it a tap it should thunk rather than ping as satsuma was made from earthenware rather than porcelain. I stumbled upon this website which gives a good insight into the characters used and their meanings.

Ps I think the symbol on the right should look a bit like this. This type of symbol seems to feature quite a lot in Japanese pottery marks
