Does anyone recognize this wood tray?

    Hi there!

I've come across this fabulous tray and was wondering where it came from. So far guesses have ranged from a mid-century Peruvian folk art souvenir to a groovy 70s American craft project.

The base is a light-weight wood painted red with the main design done in what looks like tape. It's pretty intricate work, and I haven't been able to find anything similar online. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

it doesn't seem to be a typical Olinala design

Olinalá ware is typically carved with a shallow relief surface.
