I can’t help with auction advise, but PLEASE be very careful with those delicate carvings on the bed. Very rarely are these intact. :)

I sell to dealers on a regular basis, if I find something dirt cheap that I can't move myself. Everyone makes out. The guys on Pickers are gas and oil specialists and Frank is a toy addict. So if you're trying to unload those, call the guys.

Wow, thanks for the advice so far. To be honest, I am posting a very tiny portion of what there is. The one bed set is Birdseye maple. Not sure if that is expensive, but I was told it was. There are a ton more pictures. The proceeds will help my dad who is in a home, so it is important that we get fair prices. Time is on our side as we don't have to sell tomorrow. Again, thanks. Lots to think about. I am in Pittsburgh and wish there was someone trustworthy around here, but I don't know anyone.

gg1, I searched 'pittsburgh antique auctions' and found quite a few but only one or 2 (like Artifacts) that look like they are equipped to handle such an estate. You might take some pictures with you and visit a couple of high end antique shops and see if they have any suggestions. Given the beautiful old homes and money that was in Pittsburgh, I am surprised.

I can solve your problem. Just move the house and it's entire contents to WA state, and I'll just move in and take over. Easy right?? HAHA

That is a gorgeous place, with tons of neat stuff! Looks like Eastlake style bedroom furniture. I would probably have an auction, because with Estate sales, people don't want to pay what they're really worth. They want a deal. You might also want to contact a local museum? Maybe there are some pieces they would be interested in. Good luck!!

Thanks for the help. I am hoping to do some things this winter. There is much more than I posted. Some amazing clothes as well from Paris and such. It all sounds great, but it will be a huge job and split up a lot. I will get stuck doing a lot of work probably with not much gain. Ah well.
