    Hello everyone,

I don't get enough fine jewelry to be very well acquainted with hallmarks, so I'm wondering if someone could help me with this. I googled a description of the hallmark without luck.

18k White Gold marked with a "B" and a left facing lion. Thanks!

I have no clue about USA gold marks, or any gold marks for that matter other than British. If that were a G I'd wonder about Gorham, but it's a B.

Not going to be any of our former colonies with that spelling either. Hm. Middle Eastern?

I was thinking Birks, but I’m not sure.

Took a look, and Birks puts their b in a hexagon, and the lion is rampant when used. At least that's what I saw; Canadians may know better.

I thought the lion would be indicative of a hallmark? I mean, I noticed it wasn't in a cartouche, but I don't know if all countries use that.

Maybe that'll make my looking easier as I was using the search term "hallmark".

Not gonna spend too much time on it as it's less than a gram; I was just hoping it would tickle someone's brain here who has seen it before.

edit: yeah, I got nothing. I listed it without the maker's name, so I wouldn't ask anyone to put anymore time into looking for it. Might end up having to sell it for scrap value (currently priced not that much higher than scrap).

That's the way things are going, unfortunately. One more reason I'm down to three active listings on eboo. Another? just tried using the new and "improved" listing format. Left them feedback that the idiot system wouldn't let me enter a sale price, change to auction format, or anything else. Told them to scrap it because it's an offense to anyone with a brain.

Oh, that stinks. Yeah, been away for a year so getting used to the new ebay. I hope I haven't missed too many rule changes in that year.

The ring sold for like $10 over scrap, so that's a win for me. All the moreso because I had it in a bag of items that needed to be tested, but I had thought wouldn't be silver/gold. Also had a 14k charm in there, 2 grams, so I'm a happy camper!

This have gone from hear-tearing to ... color me casper. The new listing format is supposed to be phone-friendly, but they forgot that it's real seller-unfriendly in the extreme.

My phone is too old to handle doing listings on, so I haven't seen that yet. Maybe I'll just stick with my computer. Somehow ebay always finds a way to make improvements absolutely terrible.

Just you wait.... Computer sellers get to use it now too. If you haven't been on in a while, you may be forced into it willy nilly and it will not be pretty.
