Nice little collection this morning.
Earrings are Amber and very fluorescent, not the prettiest and looked like wood to begin with!.
Red stone necklace is rather lovely and well made and no one had spotted the 925s on it so was in the costume jewellery box as were the two silver bracelets. The chain one is fully hallmarked in several places but the only bit I can read is PM and the Lion Passant until I clean it. It also has a slightly unusual catch I thought.
The marcasite ring is silver - don't know enough about opal to know if it's the real deal but it is pretty.
Pewter Swedish bit of MCM? Signed when I can work out what it says. Heart chain is silver, don't know about the heart yet but suspect not.
Pretty 1920? Purple brooch and nice brown triangular glass beads. Another pretty brooch and a couple of rings that I don’t know if they are silver.
All for less than £20!

 

The earrings are horn fluorescent too
Opal is synthetic/man made.

I have the bracelet that matches that J Crew necklace - a whole quid at a car boot sale.

@KSW - that bar brooch is early 20th, close up of the other? Your brown beads look between the wars Czech to me.

 

Ps How do you know if an opal is real or not?. I've not ventured into opals yet!

Mine cost me £2.50- you got a bargain! Do you want to sell it so I can make up a set?

I'm rather sure these heart shaped crystals glow under UV torch too

Mrs Witch, do you know what makes these pale yellowy beads fluoresce orange? I’m having great fun going through my beads. I discovered some more amber that I thought was glass too

 

No idea, not fully graduate witch for now!

Black light is so entertaining for going through all sort of pieces, isn’t it?

 

Manganese will do that too; manganese glass lights up like a beacon under black light. The brooch with the glow is brand new of course.

 

I'm glad it's not just me that finds it fascinating. I had no idea some pearls would light up like the Blackpool illuminations either. I'm off to google why.
