    My friend has this desk in his home that he received from his mother. He thinks its about 80yrs to 100yrs old. Do anyone know what the name of this desk?

    Might call it a plantation desk, though most do not have a cabinet at the bottom. It is older than you think. Really a drop-front secretary Circa 1870. Elements of renaissance revival styling. Hard to tell wood from these pictures. Drawer looks like it could be oak or ash.
