So there are a couple of necklaces on eBay using these beads described as Max Neiger. These I’m thinking are 20s 30s Egyptian Revival?. I’m not familiar with Neiger but presumably Czech? beads like this would be available for all and sundry to buy and used as they wish as against the beads being specific to a designer?
    Thankyou for any thoughts. :)

Certainly Czech between the wars, those bars are absolutely typical. They do look Neiger beads.

That's more cheerful!. They certainly look the same as the ones used on their pieces. I wonder if they were bespoke orders or if other designers could buy them wholesale too?

The Neiger brothers were designer-manufacturers. That meant they used existing bead lines by the Czech bead manufacturers, but they also commissioned beads.
It was the same with the metal parts, some were ready-made by families of metalworkers, others were commissioned.

The Neiger brothers' Egyptian Revival and Orientalist designs greatly influenced other Czech makers. Because the beads were readily available to all makers, it is difficult to say if a beaded piece is actually by the Neiger brothers. That is why you often see the term 'Neiger style'.

I would certainly call the necklace you showed Neiger style. If it is authenticated as Neiger design and manufacture, it is 100% Neiger. There are records of most of their designs.
