A while ago I purchased it labeled as a “marmalade jar” but I think it was pieced together out of tidbits.

The lid fits perfectly in the glass the spoon only sits at an angle.

F.B. Rogers Silver Co. did much silverplate but this one is marked as sterling. The 125 pattern is not turning up on searches for me. I’ve posted the spoon as well.

Any thoughts on what’s going on with these pieces?

There’s the spoon pattern! So definitely that was a tidbit from something else. Thank you.

An interesting melange, although none of it seems to have gone together originally.

When I first saw the glass piece, I said "hyacinth bulb" holder. But then I realized how big it appears to be in your hand. What are the actual dimensions?

As already pointed out, the spoon is silver plated, so there is no way it would have accompanied the sterling lid from an entirely unrelated maker. Can we see the whole spoon and know how long it is?

Yes, F B Rogers generally focused on plated holloware, none of it with pattern names, but did do some sterling. There is no reason to disbelieve the marking.

Thanks! Given the length of the spoon and the small size of the bowl, it appears to be the "infant feeding spoon" (repurposed, of course.)

I don't know what to make of the glass item - it really could be for forcing hyacinth bulbs. But the sterling lid is very appropriate for such a pretty pattern of decor on the glass. I personally don't care for a lid that sits down inside the opening, but that could just be me.

BMRT, that spoon is not a "jam spoon" - it very likely may be an infant spoon, but if it works with the jar for you, who cares?(!)

I have a few dozen crystal jam jars, many with sterling lids, and another 15 or 16 smaller crystal mustard jars, and I have a sterling spoon in every single one of them, although none of them came together!

Bakers, I have a few of similar shape, all with sterling lids. On mine, the lids fit perfectly down into the area below the flared top.

You can try the Glass Forum, they may know about the bowl, just show everything. I think some companies tended to work together.

BMRT, I didn't pay enough attention to the SIZE of your jar! Now you're going to have to look for a SUGAR SHELL, too!
