These are the only two pictures available. I am considering purchasing it. Seller thinks it’s sterling, no notes about the stone.

Any thoughts if it’s an actual antique or vintage or a reproduction?

P.S. I love the design on the front. Does anyone know what it’s called? All the tiny spheres.

Older. That pin made by bending a single piece of wire is the clue. We've had other pieces in this style; the people who know about them will be along. My guess is 800 silver.

It’s very beautiful. I don’t buy to resell, I have a small collection of pins and I don’t have anything that looks like this. It’s an inch and a half long.

    Persia? India?
    @Bakersgma

I'd guess time to be 1960ish, but that is only a guess.

Your guess is as good as mine, Pat. I'm not good with jewelry marks.

But at least we know that tagging is back in business!

    It wasn't working?
    Didn't know.

I thought that might be a silver mark for another country.

Cannetile work. Odd mark: it's not saying 800, it's almost like a linked chain of Os.

To me, this looks like a piece for @Any Jewelry to sort. :D

It wasn't working for me and I had seen others mention that they had not received a tag alert and apologized for not responding.

As for whatever is on that brooch, I'm afraid it means nothing to me.

    I think it is vintage.

I don't know the mark, sorry. I'm with cluttered, the lower part of the mark looks like 1000, but this doesn't look like pure silver. It could be .800 as Bronwen said, it could also be .500 or .600. Sterling is .925.

The style could be Middle Eastern. Palestinian, Syrian, Jordanian, that part.
The stone could be glass, very popular in that region. They imported glass cabochons from Czechoslovakia.
Those tiny spheres with wire spirals are called cannetille.

Edit: oops, just noticed obb had already answered the cannetille question. She and I both like cannetille.:)

If the MO refers to metal content then the MO would stand for Molybdenum. It is used as a hardener like Nickel in sterling. Just a guess.

Is $13 a fair ask? That’s what they want for it. Seems reasonable to me.

The first one is from the same part of the Middle East I mentioned, imo.
The second one is probably Florentine Orientalist, based on North African jewellery. Italy is very close to North Africa, and has had trade contacts there for thousands of years.

To me too, if it is some kind of silver, it is a bargain.:)

    We do indeed like cannetille!

It's well worth $13. Nicely made and with some age.
