ANY INFO ON CAMEL CIGARETTES TOBACCO JAR - MADE IN ITALY?

I think I found this at a yard sale or thrift store; I've had it for awhile but can't seem to find anything about it.
It's made of porcelain(?), in the shape of a pack of Camel cigarettes, and made to hold loose tobacco (for the old fashioned "roll your own"), right?
Does being made in Italy instead of being made in the USA make it better or worse value wise?

What are the dimensions? I believe this is actually a box to hold unfiltered cigarettes, so that you could offer them to guests. Unfiltered cigarettes are 2 3/4" (70mm). Filtered cigarettes came into being in the late 50s.

Your idea of holding loose tobacco seems very messy to me. Plus, the tobacco would dry out very quickly in a porcelain box.

 

The brand "Camels" is being advertised here, not generic loose tobacco.

 

Once again, no dimensions. Would it be the right size to hold a couple sets of playing cards?

 

Journey, back in the day, many folks had little cigarette boxes sitting on their coffee or side tables and it was considered good taste to offer them to guests and without filters they were much shorter. There are collectors for these.

A tobacco jar would have a recess in the lid to hold a sponge.

 

I saw one on worthpoint that sold for $20, and two others that were not all white but colored like the cigarette pack. These sold for $29 and $34.
