Nice perfume arts & crafts, but there is a slight dent on top. The underside is lined with cork. Lightly, punch out lid from cork side?]

The photo makes it look like the edge is tweaked too. Is it?
Can you get the cork out?

Is the cork old and fragile or soft?
    How thin is the top?

Have you tried hot water then into cold?
    How thick is the cork?

    >If you are confident water won't hurt the cork try the hot cold method first and more than once if you don't get it the first time. This is probably the least dangerous to do.
    >Putting it in the freezer MAY work but if you do this be careful of the cork for we don't know how or if it is attached.
    >If it is really thin a suction cup may pull it out. Probably have to attach it to the jar first.
    >If none of these things work, air pressure will probably do it but you'd have to be able to rig it up to something so as to apply pressure and bee sure it won't come loose and shoot across the state! It shouldn't take a lot if sealed well.
    >If you try to hammer/force it out the cork will likely be damaged and there's no guarantee you won't stretch the metal the wrong way.

That cork wont come out. It is larger than the hole. That top is two pieces, and the cork is sandwiched between the two.

OK... Well real cork is from the sea and as long as it's still soft I think the hot/cold water attempt is first unless the air pressure option wouldn't be too hard for you to do.
I'm not talking about tons of pressure either. Just enough to pop it but not blow it off whatever you have rigged up.
    Be careful! Eye protection, etc.
Know anyone who is a fabricator? They will likely have a compressor and gizmos around to possibly rig it up.
    Sorry I'm not nearby. :)

Real cork comes from the bark of the cork oak tree.

    Yes, you did. ;)

Trip - my personal feeling is that no good will come of trying to remove the cork so you can tap out that minor dent from the underside. I would leave it be. Gives it character.
