Well, the style is William & Mary, it's not period though, could be a late 19th/20th century chamber cabinet. What's the inside of the cabinet look like?

Love the cabinet, I would have bought it.
I'm with James on style and period. Possibly late 19th century Sorrento ware, from Italy.

 

The legs do not look like they go with the top.
What does the underside look like?
Barley Twist - English legs.
The top looks to have been refinished and "lacquered"
Is the arrow a reflection of you?

Keep in mind this is only my opinion, I have been known to be wrong.

 

Barley twist legs were made in Continental Europe as well.

Yup, Dutch and German furniture. I don't think that's one of ours.

 

Twist legs were built all over europe, england, germany, netherlands, bla bla bla very popular, particularly in the late victorian age, ditto usa.
Without seeing the details, I'd still guess late 19th century chamber cabinet, they had to have SOMEWHERE to store the pot when not in use!
Probably european origin on your cabinet, outstanding figure on that wood!
Interesting inlay? or is that paint?
Where are you, where did you get cab?

 

Basically, agree with the above. Could be as late as 1930 but don't dispute an earlier 20th century date. Wood looks like it could be elm.

W&M style, trumpet legs instead of twist legs but similar form, english

Sits on the legs the same as OPs.

Ohhhh, OK, I didn't know exactly what you were referring to there cluttered.
I see now! That small square transition piece from the leg to the case.
This was common on period W&M, indeed they would often bead the entire "cyma curve" on case as well.
Hard to see but the transition as well as cyma curve on case has this feature.

Yours isn't quite the same as the two already posted. Those appear to be just square - top of leg or just a small square. The piece you posted is different. Part of the molding

These two show the cabinet box is sitting on top of the leg
Your example is hard to tell. This morning when I looked, I didn't think it sat on a small platform that is part of the leg. I might be wrong. The molded skirt may hide it. Too hard to tell from the pictures. Sorry I confused you.
