Silver Thingy

    Any idea what is this for. About 8" tall.
    No marks but only that hand inscribed "800" on the bottom. Not sure if that indicated purity.
    It could be from Greece or the region. I got it from an estate sale, where there were some items from Greece and Cyprus.
    I got also a small 800 silver bowl, and a small tray, unmarked. Passed on unmarked napkin rings because I was not sure if they were solid.

    And yes, the 800 is silver purity.

    Thanks. It does seem to be. rosewater sprinkler.
    I was not sure about being solid silver because the 800 is not punched. Appears that similar pieces are with Mid Eastern origin and I guess the marking regulations of precious metals were pretty loose in those regions.

    The fact that it is marked 800 with an electric engraver helps date it. The 800 mark was probably engraved by the maker.
