    Is the bottom solid and closed, or is there a threaded opening like it should screw down over a bolt?

    Thanks for the reply -- we were thinking maybe a lamp finial, but it doesn't appear to be threaded like one would expect to see for that...

    Hi,
    Looks like a newer "cupping" glass as suggested. The ones I have had or seen were clear. I have a lot of eye cups in different colors and materials perhaps they started to make 'cuppers" in colors.

    I think it is too heavy glass to be broken by throwing. Just an opinion.

    Have wracked my brain on this one, have seen something like that before but best I can come up with is a baby bottle or pet water bottle. Are there any markings on it?
