I hit a great estate sale yesterday and found Jenfred ware brass stirrup bookends ($8); 2 Donabeth Jones watercolors ($5 each); H.D. Bugbee pen & ink ($20) and this huge brass disc with a cut out face. Hoping someone might recognize this disc since there isn't a signature or mark. ($75)

    Just an update.

    Not a diamond. :(

Oh well, I kind of figured that, but it would have been nice. Still beautiful and still a honking big piece of paste!

Thanks TDC, when I saw those stirrup bookends I briefly thought I would give them to my sister for a Christmas present. When I saw what they were going for I said "NO" to my sister's present and "YES" for me! :greedy:

A chilly grey morning with rain threatening, so I only hit 3 sales. Not a great day for silver, but if you can't get silver you might as well spend 50 cents on a book about silver. :D

1913 volume on the subject of Sheffield Plate by Bertie Wyllie.

Some of the best finds are reference books on a subject that one collects!

The little print is Arthur Garratt's 'Peter', was often sold paired with Sydney Bell's 'Charlotte'.

Wow the finds are on there! Can the bracelet be fixed? even as scrap it's worth probably more than what you paid for the lot. My jeweler repairs a lots and can fix just about anything
    Thanks for the id!!

    You are welcome, Sharona.

I spent a total of $617 on the 3 lots posted within this thread starting from page 9. After I scrap this tennis bracelet, I should be able to get at least that back, so whatever all the other items sell for will be pure profit. :D

I also made an ID error. The "Samson & Cie" ID is incorrect. After taking the base mount apart, the item is marked with a very early Noritake mark. So that item is early Japanese Noritake imitating Chinese export armorial wares.

    Hi Rivets,

    Sure, no problem! :)

That inro is actually one of two. There's an old dealer's tag/label on it that reads: "$130 18th cent. Hand Carved Lacquer". It also has a carved ivory openwork ojime attached to it. The other is just a tad smaller, gilt and silver lacquered with an amber ojime, most likely Meiji era.
