    Hiya all,
    I hope everyone had a happy holiday.
    I ran across this piece on the net. Does anyone know the purpose of this item?
    Gold vermeil on silver in the original box. Hard to read the box A. Doseaux?
    Just curious about the item. Screenshot_20221227-070126~2.png Screenshot_20221227-070136~2_copy_768x1034_copy_600x808.png Screenshot_20221227-070149~2_copy_540x1034.png

    Very pretty, but what does it "adorn?" Is it a brooch, something else? No marks?

    Beautiful.
    I see an oak branch and a laurel branch, both symbols of the French Republic. I guess it is some kind of award bestowed by the state.
    @kyratango ?:)

    It's a hangs-out-looks-cute. It looks like some sort of victory award.

    How odd - there is no cherub on the medal at the bottom of OP's pin..?

    One of the more unique pieces of bling i've seen here-all it needs is provenance.When was it awarded,to whom & for what-it's quite an item.

    I assume it goes this way up; otherwise it is defying gravity.

    Yes, award! There are numbers of cultural or art associations, and these "palms" were attributed by the committee to "winners".
    They should have been engraved with date, name and occasion of the reward, but they are often found blank.
    Not to be worn, just for display, out of proud:D
