I bought a small lot of pewter pieces a few weeks ago & am going to need some help on the marks. This is piece #2.

    It measures 9 7/8" by 7 1/8" across.

I am thinking it is French due to the design including the salamander with the crown & the fleur de lis on the front.

I did look through the marks in the pinned site at the top of the page, but if it was there I missed it entirely.:oops:

Thanks for any & all advice or opinions!!:kiss::kiss:

Here is some irony for you. :p:p

I had a Google page open where I had been looking to see what exactly to call the creature in the center. After I had seen INH's response I went back to the page so I could do some further research. As soon as I opened it there was the image of my Crown over Rose mark staring me in the face, but had not seen it when I was there before.

So I clicked on the image to see where it would take me & I ended up on a 2014 page from the eBay boards & there were several folks who were quite familiar to me. :D:D:D

So even though you did not even look in on this thread thanks to @kentworld @say_it_slowly & @Figtree3 for your assistance.:happy::happy:

However it made me sad because one of the posters was also ladybranch & I thought again how much she added to the collective knowledge that is this forum. Susan, you will always live on through all of the posts where you helped & you are very much missed. :(:(

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I can't believe you found that on eBay boards! Excellent. I see the original thread on eBay was posted almost exactly 5 years ago, soon after many of us had transferred here.

And I didn't help much, except to mention that ladybranch was somebody who might be able to assist! (And BTW, I never got a notification for your tag, @antidiem .)
