I checked my Blenko books for the 1970's but couldn't turn this vase up. I had my doubts because the decoration on the side is not typical of their production and the color is a little off the shade they were using at that time. I also don't recall Blenko covering their pontil marks in that fashion. That being said I am not a Blenko expert. I would show this to the folks on the Blenko Glass Collectors facebook page. They should be able to provide you with a shape number (although the earliest pieces did not have shape numbers) and the YOP.

Rigaree frill. Not acid etched, it's a pontil which hasn't been polished.

Pic doesn't show it well but the concave ground pontil mark and the flat ground bottom are smoother than a rough ground piece but not fully polished either. Agree that it is probably not acid etched but that is the look.

The red one is not Blenko. I have the same in green and it was identified here as something else.

Red looks Whitefriars. They came in several sizes, I've got a few.

O'Bear- You're amazing ! Ask any 20 year old baby picker abt 'Rigaree frill' & they'd just look up frm their basket full of Old Navy tees & go 'huh ?'.

Whitefriars huh... never found any here. That's probably why no one knew what it was. I've watched too much Antiques Alley on Youtube or I wouldn't either.

hmmm, I'm by far no authority on Blenko Glass. Maybe someone should tell the Blenko group that on FB

Seems there was something different about the crimping on the "handles" on mine. Maybe the red one is Blenko. Let me see if I have a pic of mine.
