Hi, my name is Scott and I'm an advanced collector of Victorian Art Glass shakers and condiment sets. I'm also a collector of Carnival Glass. I've write articles for the WVMAG All About Glass magazine on shakers and shaker collecting. I've written articles of the same for many antiques publications in the US, Canada, and the UK.
I ran across this site by accident and thought I would join.

    What a lovely avatar pic!

You know, it's interesting that you "ran across the site by accident." We've only been really active for a few weeks and have been wondering how to "get the word out" beyond our own circle of contacts. Do you mind sharing how you found us? Google? Bing? Were you searching for something in particular?

We've been having quite the discussion about how to write thread titles to maximize "keywords."

I believe it was a Google search. The site seems pretty active, so many are dead and end up leaving.

Thank you, I certainly will. My collection is about 1500 salt and sugar shakers as well as mustard jars and toothpick holders.

They are a great outfit. I visit them at the museum every year in July. I go to the Akro Agate convention in Clarksburg, WV and run down to Weston where they are.

Well, anyway thanks for the welcome everyone. I will start a thread about shakers sometime this week and hope to post pics!

I have picked up a few of their magazines from somewhere, and find they are very informative. I bet the Akro Agate convention has some great items!

    Hi Scott,
You are so welcome. I do miss people posting pieces of glass. I help ID when I am able. I have learned so much about glass just by seeing pieces. I am excited to have you here.

Yes, its a nice magazine and the museum is nice if you ever get to go there. Im not sure where you are in the country but if you ever get a chance.
Thanks Greg, I look forward to some nice conversations. Like I said earlier, in so many cases, online groups are often all but dead and I get discouraged and leave.
