I was curious if anyone could help me figure anything out about this dresser? I think it might be teak? I cannot find a makers mark. It is built with standard screws, not Phillips head. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I agree with johnny
Will also add that it is not teak. Veneered wood. Walnut? Wait for a wood person.

Agree 30s-40s chest of drawers in a traditional revival style. Sort of Sheraton but not true to form. Most of these were in mahogany but the one pic of wood grain you show does look like walnut. Kind of hard to tell from that small portion. Could we have an overall look at the grain on the top and/or a full straight on view of the matched wood grain on the bottom 3 drawers?

    Thank you.
I can kind of see that there are dovetails. These are important because of these reasons, and perhaps more:
    1) that the drawer is put together that way and not just nailed.
    2) there are different kinds of dovetails and that can date a piece.
    3) how well are they done?

This is definitely walnut veneers. Looks like you might have a band of some other wood around the top.

They seem to be well made.

It has the number 12 written under each of the drawers. I'm not sure if that means anything.

    Hi,
Your dovetails well made as you stated are machine done. The walnut veneers and style just reinforce the date and style that others have already stated.
