Old cocktail shaker.

Do you think it's silver? Needs some cleaning maybe? and how old can it be?

 

There is nothing, but it looks silverish i think.

 

Looking silverish is hardly conclusive, but you could start with a soak in warm soapy water (using a grease-cutting soap like Dawn) and a gentle sponge to see how much of the discoloration (may be tarnish, but may be not) can be easily removed.

 

The inside looks plate and the outside, gilded? It's a melange of color... Didn't you have one that was quite exquisite and $$, @Scoobydooo?

 

It's discolored, no sorry maybe some other scoobydooo? lol

 

I tried cleaning it but not much improvements =/

 

The way the exterior looks is in no way related to "gilding." It looks more like the way nickel silver (contains NO silver) looks after it tarnishes (and is also very dirty.)

 

I'ts probably worthless.

Nickel or German silver's better than no silver, right? Could indicate older... It has a nice shape.

That probably would clean up, if solid.

Just mean if something's alpaca, German "silver" or nickel "silver" it's not stainless steel, chrome plated, tin or aluminum.

This piece looks 30s to me.
