Brlonged to my friends great grandmother and just thought it was beautiful...anything? No markings...value? Dates? She was originally selling them for $70...curious as to what they are worth. I’m keeping them even if they are worth nothing because they are gorgeous!!! 8DE020C2-D520-4188-822A-7A8D8056409A.jpeg 4FB0E364-CF96-4F1D-A394-8AB0B8815330.jpeg 6C2B8FAB-4F4E-40F7-8D9F-9A43A4FFE524.jpeg

    Dear Ashley...
    I thought they were a brooch and earrings......but now I see it's a buckle...
You need to give us the size please !!
The stones look like paste ....but I'll leave it to others who may know better..

She said her great grandmother was in a picture and she was wearing it on her chest?

Just want to add the word 'sash' to Komokwa's 'buckle'. Try a google image search for vintage or antique sash buckle.

Some glass is referred to as paste & artificial gems that are made from it are also referred to as paste.

It's a clasp that was sewn onto something. It is not a sash buckle.

Yup, buckle. $70 is too much, to my mind.

A buckle for a light evening cloak maybe? It couldn't take much weight or strain, so no belt or heavy cloak. Definitely not a sash buckle. I'd say 1930s.
It is very pretty, but I agree, $70 is too much.

May even be later, Ma had these on evening frocks in the 50s. I normally pay about ten quid for these, but I'm a cheapskate!

It has a 1930's vibe for me. Do a google image search for 1930's jewelry. It is art deco. And it being paste would make sense because of poverty during the Depression. Paste was popular then because people were so poor. They couldn't afford real rhinestones.

Check out this dress clip from the 1930's. It is paste.

Yours is a great design. So clean and genuinely art deco.

For a light evening wrap is what I would imagine.

In my area, Cape Cod, this would probably sell for about $20.

With the finish loss on the back and what looks like a few dead stones on the front, it would be even less than that where I live. Also doesn't help that not being a pin it is hard to wear. This type of thing (cool as it is!) can be a bit of a hard sell. So agree with above, $70 is too much.
