Does anyone recognize these figurines? I saw some that were painted, but these only have minimal paint on their faces. The monks are 2 7/8" & 2 1/2" tall. The table is 1" to the side edge & is 1 3/8" by 1" across. They are marked Germany 18512 on the back.

Thanks for any & all advice or opinions!!:kiss:

Peggy, these are the closest I found, although there's not much info:

The smaller ones seem to have the same info on them as yours:

The smaller standing one is 2 3/4"tall and is marked Germany 18512 on the back at the base. The seated one holding cards is 2 1/8" tall and is also marked Germany 18512 on the back at the base.

@SBSVC - Those are the ones I found. They must have been sold some time ago because the listings say they accept payments other than PayPal.

They sold in 2008, another reason a membership doesn't seem like a good idea.

The theme of monks drinking and playing cards seems to have been popular in paintings, prints, and figurines. I did find some other figurines but they are different from yours:

It is, isn't it! There were several series of humorous stereoviews published in the 19th century. Some of them are very funny!
