Does that list say Apostles?!. Lovely tin, shame the apostles etc are no longer with it!

They were generally display items. The tin is really cool; we don't get those old British sweetie tins here. American ones sometimes, but the graphics aren't as cool.

Apostle spoons are really common here - heavens, we've found something new for @Bronwen. ;) You get really nice silver ones, but the most usual are just chrome. I do like them.

My fave thing to do is to find a tin I have stashed and forgotten about,it happens more often than you may think :O and love going through the forgotten contents!

Maker of the inventory does enumerate the silver spoons separately from the others, & OBB says they were typically chrome.

Apparently never caught on in the US. I have to stick to identifying apostles on cameos. :)

    Bou, you made me look!

I have a bunch of tins in various "hiding places" - mostly in my office - but you inspired me to go looking... Here's the first one I found. It's not OLD, but I think it's pretty!

    It's hinged across the back.

When I opened it, look what I found!

That little scrap of paper says FLAT SHEEP - and that's exactly what's in there: a ton of FLAT SHEEP!

I doubt that anyone else here has a TIN FULL OF FLAT SHEEP!

Baa baa flat sheep, are you made of wool?

Nope! Most are metal: pewter, painted pewter, even sterling silver!

I could easily become a collector of tins. Do have a few. This is the largest & longest with me. Bought with my little bit of allowance money in a resale/junk shop, along with a tiny, broken clay figure of a Chinese peasant. The tin has become a bit dinged from having been packed for shipping by someone with an alcohol problem, but still love her. She sits atop my refrigerator. About 11 inches tall.
