Murano Bowl? How to Describe

Hi everyone - I'm still on a big learning curve regarding Italian glass. I'm tis rying to determine if this is a Murano bowl and how to describe it. I gather its not millefiori or sommerso but I don't know what it is called. It's about 9 1/4" across and 2 1/8". Is there a good primer for Murano glass that doesn't show just masterpieces? As much as I like to look at those they're not real useful for the kind of stuff I find around here. The last picture shows how the colors look on a darker background. Thanks much! Don

 

In the bead world, there are Czech glass beads that have opaque white bits of glass embedded within transparent glass like in your bowl. They're called "givre" beads.

I don't have much experience with Czech or Venetian (Murano) bowls, plates, etc., so don't know if what I shared is relevant, though.

 

Try Googling 'blue tutti frutti'. It looks like that might lead to some info.

Ah, I never heard of "tutti frutti" glass. Interesting pieces!

 

I think AVEM did a lot of tutti frutti pieces. Try googling pics of their work.

 

I recall reading somewhere that the AVEM attribution is not correct.
