Score! I went to an estate sale this morning. Almost didn't bother, but did get two sweaters for Mom, a vintage Florida A&M sweatshirt for Ebay, and a little jewelry. Spent too much. Tomorrow is the historical society tag sale, so we'll see.

Don't know if this product is still on the market, a scrubbing sponge, I think. Never noticed it until many years ago spotted it on a store shelf: Chore Boy. In small letters at the bottom:Formerly Chore Girl.

Bronwen, I think that is still being sold today. The cleaning aisle is not my fave part of the store. LOL

Now we also have the product Scrub Daddy which appeared on Shark Tank.
They also added a Scrub Mommy possibly.

I was really into reading the front page of that book. I don't know what the weather is going to do tomorrow....there is a community yard sale, and in that community is an over 55 development. I have had hit or miss luck at them, but I don't know if they are setting up.... I would have to drive out.... And there is a church rummage sale in a tonier town a bit further away. We will see..... I'd like to hit both, but I wouldn't get there early at both.

    Where would you go?

I know you weren’t asking me but I love those historical society sales. I’ve always made good picks, mostly art and ephemera, no jewelry, though I’ve seen it there.

Yes, it’s a very captivating book. The way the book also has written the letter S is also a bit confusing when reading it for the first time, because they look like the letter f.
As for the sales. It depends on what you are searching for. What do the houses look like? What part of town is it in? There are a few things that make up a good sale and if you can determine that it’s a house that has just been built, a condo, or apartment, then you can for more or less rule out a likelihood of a lot of antiques being there.
When you say “over 55 development” what does that mean?
I would look at the pictures (If their are any) and all the other small details. Most of the time if you don’t ask the person that is running the sale what your looking for, you won’t ever find it. Sometimes I have told the seller that I was looking for antiques ( things that wind up or are of a certain description and they say “ you know what, I have that in my house if you want to buy it”) and they bring it out.
Both are vague and I would need to know what the first one means more. I would say keep looking they both sound like duds to me, but to each their own. Good luck in the search.

    “over 55 development”
where they put old people to retire and die........

they still have lots of stuff ....but want to get rid of it..

Wait till you go .......if you go the way we go..... from..
    living with yer folks
    to an apt
    to a home
    to a condo
    to a retirement community
    to an assisted living apt
    to a hospital
    to a hospice
    to underground.....

    you get stuff
    you enjoy stuff
    you get rid of stuff

To bad I have a nice jump from living with my folks to home.
Condos are scams, learned how to make more in retirement from my father who makes $110k+ A year.
Would never put him or anyone I know into a retirement community or assisted living. Everyone knows that’s when you start being mistreated and stolen from.
Hospital only when they figure out how to put new organs and maybe sell the old ones as antiques. Who knows they might post them as funds here. Jk.
Never underground for me. I will be freeze dried and since they have found how to keep brain tissue alive longer, it is only a matter of time before I am able to just have the “brain in a jar” scenario.
100+ Life or killed in my sleep. Not taking any other options.
Anyway... back to finds. Got an 1800s whale oil lamp from the same sale. Everything intact for only $35. Anyone know where I can tap into a fresh supply of whale oils now? >:)
Oh and a jar of discontinued stephensons olde english furniture cream. Anyone know why they discontinued it? Want to make sure it was not because of health risks. 1FB717EB-1A78-4A8F-83A7-99FF1517F71F.jpeg
