Daum Nancy Lamp or knock off?

This lamp is massive, like 2ft tall. It has been drilled for a wire near the bottom on the side (not very professional looking). There are chips around the edges of the shade and base. I think it might have originally been an oil lamp. It doesn't have a cut or polished pontil. It has a small hole which appears to have been formed by a mold or iron rod being pushed in. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

As a fabricator I find that a pretty cheesy bracket to hold the socket and shade in place. :p
Looks like it's been overtightened in the past to chip the top of the vase, or whatever it is. :p
The more you tighten that thin stamped sheet metal bracket the more it will bend.
I think it's a marriage to that vase...or whatever that is.
If it were a quality piece it would fit in a collar over the 'vase' I should think.
It also appears that the shade would be heavier than the 'vase' and so it would be very top heavy and asking for a smashing.
    My 3 cents. :)

Not old either, from the look of it. Or French. My money's on a Chinese copy. If you like yellow and orange it's pretty, and would be great if the base lights too.
