Unknown Artist

I can not make out the signature on this piece. I found it in a property I recently purchased near Waco TX. Can anyone point me in a direction?

Well, the note on the back does say "decorator piece" and it is that.

I believe this is one form of "factory art" and it may be from China. The frame is very new.

If it is originally from the U.S., this group may be related:

but I've not researched The Highwaymen artists before. I have seen plenty of art such as this sold by the roadside, especially in the 1980s through the early 90s.

That means the signature on your painting was done by a factory artist and is likely a nom de bosse not a real name. To my eye, your painting does have the appearance of being produced in Asia.

As Debora said, the label says it all:



"harmonious accent pieces that blend with and complement the furniture decor of the room"
So made as home decor, not as 'real' art, which means the signature is of no importance. In some cases the same signature was used by a number of people.
It is hand painted though, and its sale provided an income for a family.
