NickRobin Why buy new when you can fix old.

Well most of them where kinetic for the most part. I would say that you could probably save the metal clasp on the band and fashion a new band out of another band. It is not one of the better ones, maybe a 3rd copy, but if it tells the time and you can fix the band to wear it, then that’s all that matters.
This is one I got from that friend in China. You can tell that it is a fake, but it is always a risk when you get them from countries that are in that area.
My sister may pick me up a real one when she goes to Switzerland and other parts of Europe for studying.
It is the small details that you have to look at when finding a real one of most anything nowadays.

I had to google that watch- you guys find amazing watches! You can't even find a man's watch like that here.... my watch repair guys tell me they really go fast. I know people just hunting for watches at the local flea markets, men's watches. I do find my ladies watches, though.

Bear, that is a great piece from the Bradford Exchange. I am still kicking myself for not buying a Bradford Exchange cat necklace at an estate sale. They do have a market here. Franklin Mint made some great fine jewelry pieces that have skyrocketed in price. I bought two on ebay years ago for less than $200 each, I regret selling the 18k emerald and sapphire ring I bought for $135 now.

I have a collection of old jewelry boxes. I have another large one very much like that one in cream color that I got for $6 a an estate sale last year. I have the smaller ones stacked up in my living room, will have to photograph for you. I used to love my little ballerina jewelry box.

Hi Marko, I found a nice little ballerina jewellery box a while back at a garage sale in like new condition ... I filled it with assorted necklaces and bracelets and gave it to my little grandaughter on her eighth birthday, she LOVED it !!! I love the big yellow box that you have as it would be ideal to store some of my miniature antique dolls in, I will be keeping my eyes open for a similar one .. very nice items you have :) ... Joy.

Regarding watches, I never did better then finding empty boxes, when clearing a house.
    Same thing with pen's...
I guess those things do quickly disappear in any pocket...
Yesterday was a bank holiday over here, we started late, due to ....well that is a long story.... (lol!!)... but did well never the less.
The painting on panel signed G. Lambert at 5 euro, and alpaca silver cutlery set at 15 euro...

Bought these two dragonflies at the church thrift today for .25 cents each. Cheryl @DragonflyWink if you want them free, let me know and I’ll ship them out, otherwise they go on the give away thread.
The brooch is newer Taxco sterling and brass with makers mark TS-102, the bracelet has a small break near the rear below the lower right wing and is marked only 925.

I’m thinking that doesn’t meet OSHA standards with the cover!

Their advertising wasn’t exactly p.c. either.

NickRobin Why buy new when you can fix old.

Just came back from a house built in the 1800s with things from the 1600-1700s in it from France. Full of law books, Cuban cigars hand made in Havana (,but sent to chateaus in France then sent to Great Britain and then to the US when they were illegal), and many more treasures. Got a book from 1711 talking about the history of the rebellion and civil wars in England. Also another book 1711 that is lord halifax the spectator. Both $3 a piece at the sale.
You guys find anything this week?
