    Long experience with things like this. Before the timeframe I mentioned, there was zero market for such poorly-cast junky decorative souvenirs. After WWII and the rise of middle-class consumers with at least a little discretionary income, a market emerged. Nobody will make things unless there are folks willing and able to buy them.
