I picked this bowl up at the auction last night. I have no clue about the glass but the base is marked sterling with the number 2468D & a small hatchet looking mark. The hallmarks across the top are a lion, an anchor & what may be a TB?

The bowl is 6" across & is 3 7/8" to the side edge.

Anybody want to take a guess on the maker of the bowl &/or the base?? :)

    Possible Steuben.

I will check into this possibility. I will say it is quality glass going by feel & the cutting.

I did some looking around & I do think that Steuben Verre de Soie is a real possibility. This piece was part of a group of items that included a pair of wonderful Hawkes cut candlesticks & a crystal candy jar with a Thomae Guilloche sterling silver handle on the lid.

I have had no luck finding this cutting on a Steben piece though. :(
