    Oh, without question!

    That's where my husband is originally from (North Jersey...about 10 minutes outside of Manhattan). He relocated down here in the early-2000s just before we got married. Most of my in-laws are there and we travel often to go see them and NYC. Some of the best finds can be found there, especially the inner-city parts where many antiques dealers/pickers won't or don't dear to explore. ;)

    Looks like my $4 frame find today is a decade or two older than I originally thought. There's no image, but the way they describe the stamped patent number is exactly the way mine is stamped verso: http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2004/decorative-arts-from-1870-w04813/lot.515.html

    If mine could fetch half that pre-sale estimate I'd be happy. :D

    @Marko, you're most welcome.

    Hi,
    I miss the sales from Middlesex and Union county. I used to find the most wonderful things in Plainfield. Even the thrift shops were great most stuff was two bucks and under. I found a semi antique Oriental rug 10 X 15 for $25. That was where my kitchen table and 4 chairs and china cabinet $30 came from. The yard sales were great also. Seven years ago when I moved down here I was so depressed. The consignments here are outragously over priced. South and west of here is great. Outside of Sea Isle City is fabulous when I get down there. Watching the kids is a bore, those guys have no patience for sales.:yawn:

    Sharona - Your amethyst bottle was sold by DeVilbiss c.1955. They called the color Heather & it is number S150-29. The other 2 bottles were likely sold by Irice.

    johnny, I'm very fond of IoW, Kerry and Mdina. I suspect the wee yellow thing had a stopper - tall and pointed probably. It's very pretty.

    A few odds and sods from yesterday, including a couple of nice Stourbridge thorn vases in cranberry glass. The swan is Liskeard glass. I can't remember who did the blue plates. 811A.jpg 813A.jpg 814A.jpg 817A.jpg

    Hi Bear,
    Love the blue plates and the vases. Living in Brooklyn (my section aka little Italy) I received 5 liquor sets like your blue. I had a set in green a set in blue 2 sets of red and a set in yellow Three were housewarming, one was a thank you and the other because I opened my big mouth and said that I liked them. Did not know (then) if you gushed over someones item they would immediately give them to you. If they didn't, Karma would break them.

    I think the lady's head vases are excusable by the guys just because they're ladies

    But the fish only a grandma could love
