Totem Pole carving.

    Nineteen inch totem pole might be from Canada,Novascotia.I had no luck with the penciled signature.Its over 80 years old,and its starting to show its age.

    Agreed; to be more specific: this does not show the general stylistic details of native-made totem poles, and does not show the details that would indicate any particular native band or tribe. The totem-making peoples are all located on the Northwest coast of the US and Canada, and would not be in Nova Scotia.
    It is possible this is a summer-camp project, or a Boy Scout merit badge project, and old examples of both are not unknown.

    but u do find totem poles made in the east.....just not NWC style...and mostly as tourist items....

    Like All Fakes says...this one is un-identifyable ....
