Moroccan ceramic advice

    672C29E5-C31F-4766-8E5A-3CC2A7CDD4AB.jpeg Hi - new to this site - We were given this bowl by my husband’s aunt - she wasn’t well travelled but I believe it’s Moroccan. Any advice on origin, age or value would be appreciated (we love it whatever!)

    Welcome, Linda.
    Gorgeous bowl, and you are right, it is Moroccan. It was made in Safi, a city on the central Atlantic coast of Morocco.
    It has no great age, but great appeal. These are still being made. Can't help you with the value, but if you google Safi blue and white pottery bowl, you should be able to find something similar.

    I think this might be from Fes, the clay from Safi is red I believe. The painting style in both cities is very similar.

    As far as I know, the ceramics with metalwork are typical Safi. Safi ceramics are sold elsewhere as well, it is called the ceramics capital of Morocco.
