Hello Again ;-) I have this perfume bottle. Measures approximately 2 1/4" tall and 1 3/4" wide. There are no markings/stamps that I can locate using a loop. What material is the blue part? Is this a glass bottle painted with a blue color and brass top? I tested the gold color parts and it doesn't show it's gold. Any ideas of time frame that this was made? Any information is appreciated :)

Looks like Bohemian enameled glass with a brass fit top.

You find the nicest stuff! LOL

*edit added: This could be Moser... bottom looks like a well ground pontil. Sooo pretty!

Thank you FlyingButtonRanch :) You have been MORE than helpful in your replies! Several years ago I inherited a ton of family items. Unfortunately, I have way too many things that I just can't keep everything and a husband who likes very little clutter. And my only 2 brothers have about ZERO interest in any of the items. I refuse to have a garage full of "things" and want to enjoy and use the things I keep. So I have been weeding through what items we want to keep and what to get rid of. A big chore, but indeed a very enlightening project in regards to learning more about my ancestry; which I have a lot of interest in ;-) And it's like a constant treasure hunt finding things and learning about the items. Thank you!

Late 19th/early 20th C blue milk glass with enamelled decoration. Probably Bohemian, indeed. Don't clean it whatever you do. I'd keep that. ;)

Hiya Lisa, happy to try to help. Besides, being on the forum keeps me from getting the urge to get out a dust cloth and over exerting myself. *grin*

Yeah, I get that. Fortunately for me, hubby doesn't mind my old stuff everywhere. I think the clutter bugs me more. LOL Well... Just keep what speaks to your soul, and find a new guardian for the rest of it!

I have an old hope chest that belonged to my Grandmother (all inlaid wood, big swastika in the center of it with her initials, custom made for her when she was 15 years old, here in Arizona) and I really don't want it. Her hand made quilt as well. I don't do Country decor really, so I'd love for someone ELSE to love them, and put the $$ in a vacation fund.

I'm guessing it's the Native American "whirling logs" symbol and not a swastika, although it's sometimes called that.

Yeah it is... the pattern symbol and word swastika has been used as a symbol for good luck for ages, long before the Nazis corrupted the word. Now if you say it, everyone immediately thinks HITLER (and if I said whirling logs or fylfot, not many would probably know what the *bleep* I was talking about). It's just a swastika... just a word. LOL

We figure it was made here in Arizona around 1920, long before the negative association with the symbol. She loved the native american culture and all of the wonderful jewelry that was available out here (she was born in the mining town of Clifton, Arizona in 1904). I have quite a few of her things including her collection of native american silver jewelry.
